Wilbur-Ellis offers a $15,000 lifetime reimbursement benefit through Maven Maternity Services to support employees and their families on the path to parenthood. This benefit can be used for eligible expenses related to surrogacy, adoption, and fertility treatments* in any combination, with a total lifetime cap of $15,000 across all family planning categories.
- Fertility treatments*: Medications, egg/sperm retrieval, IVF, and related procedures
- Adoption expenses: Agency fees, legal fees, and court costs
- Surrogacy expenses: Agency, medical, and legal costs
*Fertility treatment is only available to employees and dependents enrolled in a BSCA medical plan.
Maven Wallet: Reimbursement for Family Planning Services
When you enroll in the Maven Family Planning Services program, you have access to Maven Wallet—a personal reimbursement account designed to help you manage costs for family planning services. Eligible services include fertility treatment, preconception wellness, adoption, and surrogacy. Wilbur Ellis provides reimbursement (up to $15,000 lifetime) through the Maven Wallet app.
Here’s how it works:
- Activate Your Wallet
- Download the Maven Clinic app (from Google Play or the App Store) and enroll or sign in.
- Tap “Maven Wallet” on the homepage or “My Maven Wallet” under the “Me” icon.
- Apply to activate your Wallet. Your eligibility should be verified within one business day.
- Access the account to manage your family planning expenses.
- Get Reimbursed
- Refer to the Fertility, Adoption, Surrogacy section (page 7) of the Maven Wallet Program Overview booklet to review a list of eligible expenses.
- Pay for eligible services using your personal credit or checking account. It’s important to understand that expenses paid for using a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) are not eligible for reimbursement. In addition, please note that prepaid services, including fertility treatment packages (e.g., multi-cycle packages, or money-back guarantee packages) cannot be reimbursed until the service you are seeking reimbursement for has been rendered or is complete.
- Submit an itemized invoice and proof of payment to Maven Wallet within 180 days of your date of service or the date of finalized adoption/signed surrogacy agreement. Review the examples listed in the Resources section (page 14) of the Maven Wallet Program Overview booklet. The itemized invoice
must include:
- Date of service
- Description of service(s)
- Service provider’s name and contact information
- A receipt showing your (or your eligible spouse’s/domestic partner’s) financial responsibility for the service
- Any other substantiation required for the expense (documentation for adoption, surrogacy, or medical necessity, etc.)
- Add your bank account information to Maven Wallet to receive reimbursements through direct deposit. Reimbursements are typically provided within 10-14 days of receiving all required documentation.
- If applicable, an appropriate tax withholding will be deducted from your next paycheck. Wilbur Ellis will make a gross-up payment to cover the additional income and employment taxes required to be withheld and those will be reflected in your paycheck.
- If your expense isn’t eligible for reimbursement, Maven will notify you by email. Reach out to your Care Advocate if you have questions or need additional information.
